Product Care & Help Guide

Product Care & Help Guide

Home gym equipment, steel weight benches, and free weights endure repeated mechanical impact, high static loading, and daily training sweat.

This guide offers practical recommendations to help you maintain structural safety, finish integrity, and operational longevity for your training gear. Please note: Maximum load ratings, bolt torque specifications, and assembly procedures vary between models. Specific instructions supplied with your product always take priority over the general advice in this guide.

1. Dumbbells, Barbells & Weight Plates

Sweat & Moisture Control

Perspiration contains salts and acids that can corrode bare steel or chrome knurling over time. After intense training sessions, wipe dumbbell handles, barbells, and plate rims with a dry, clean microfibre cloth.

Cleaning & Storage

Clean rubber-coated hex dumbbells and bumper plates with a damp cloth and mild neutral soap solution; avoid soaking. Never apply harsh petroleum solvents, bleach, or acidic cleaners, as these degrade rubber compounds. Store free weights on designated racks or rubber floor matting rather than bare concrete or timber floors.

2. Weight Benches & Power Racks

Periodic Fastener Inspections

Regular weight lifting creates micro-vibrations that can loosen frame bolts over time. Every 4 to 6 weeks, inspect all assembly bolts, pivot pins, and locking knobs on benches and squat stands. Tighten any loose fittings firmly using an appropriate domestic wrench or spanner.

Upholstery Care

Wipe synthetic leather bench pads after use with a soft damp cloth. Never use bleach, alcohol wipes, or harsh solvent sprays directly on vinyl upholstery, as this dries out the material and leads to premature cracking.

3. Domestic Training Safety Precautions

  • Weight Capacity Adherence: Always observe the maximum stated weight capacity (user weight plus bar load combined) indicated on the product page. Never exceed load ratings.
  • Floor Protection: Use high-density interlocking gym rubber tiles beneath heavy equipment to absorb impact, reduce vibration noise, and prevent indentation on household floors.
  • Level Flooring: Always operate benches and racks on level, stable flooring. Do not position heavy workout stations on uneven boards or thick deep-pile carpets that compromise stability.
